I taught Theory of Curriculum and Instruction for a master’s program in Preschool Education at the School of Children’s Development and Education, China Women’s University, delivering synchronous online instruction in English. Co-developing the course with a Chinese professor of education, I integrated Western curriculum theories with Chinese educational perspectives, emphasizing the connection between theory and practice. For example, I guided student teachers through lesson planning as a foundational skill, blending Tyler’s objectives-based model with China’s holistic, play-based early childhood approach. Through interactive discussions and hands-on activities, I provided detailed feedback on their lesson plan presentations, ensuring they could effectively apply curriculum theory to real classroom settings.
